Why is an alarm needed?
It gives you peace of mind; helping to protect both your property and possessions.
How does it work?
Via a radio link to a receiver/oracle.
What happens if the property gets broken into?
The alarm communicates with a receiver and our Rambase 2008 software. This then activates a pager telling park staff the precise location of the issue.
Is the alarm constantly monitored?
Yes, it is monitored 24/7. It is like having an electronic security guard protecting your property.
What is the response?
That’s down to each site. Some offer a 24 hour response, others a response only during working hours.
Is the alarm deactivated if the owner switches off his power?
No, the alarm is battery powered.
How does the site staff know if an alarm is not working?
The alarm checks in every hour. Any alarms not working will miss a check-in & Rambase 2008 will print a report out daily telling site staff of faulty alarms. Staff then inform Ramtech who send an engineer to fix it.
How do the customer turn the alarm on & off?
The alarm is operated by a simple key operation.
Where does the customer turn the alarm on or off?
Alarms are turned off where the main keyswitch is placed. This can be wherever you wish.
How long does the owner have to turn the alarm off when entering the property?
There is a 25 second delay on entering & exiting the van to reduce false alarms.
How many PIR detectors are fitted?
That depends on the alarm package. The classic has just one but you can have as many as are needed.
What is the guarantee?
The alarm is under warranty for the first year.
Is there an annual charge?
The first year is free. After that the site charges the owner a service charge. For this the owner gets connection to the system, response from site staff & in the event of the alarm going faulty, maintenance from Ramtech.
What happens if the annual charge is not paid?
The alarm remains in the property but the alarm is disabled on the Ramtech system so they no longer are connected.
Does having an alarm mean insurance premiums will be lower?
Usually yes, but you will need to check with your administrator and insurance company.
