Ramtech, the Nottingham based wireless communications specialist, is celebrating its 20th anniversary.

 

The company, now the UK’s leading manufacturer and installer of radio-based security and monitoring systems for holiday home parks and the marina industry, has come along way since it was first formed twenty years ago.

There is a map on the wall of Andy Hicks' office which looks like it sketches out a network of coastal early-warning stations.

 

What the pins actually represent is a snaking network of seaside holiday parks which now use wireless technology developed by Ramtech to either provide security for the caravans they host or internet access.

 

For Andy, they are also the manifestation of his own career ambitions. He started out auditing what businesses were up to but became so fascinated with running them he climbed the long, hard ladder to ownership.

Ramtech Alarm Catches Culprits At Perran Sands

A group of youths were caught in the act as they attempted to vandalise a large tent at a holiday park owned by leading holiday park group Bourne Leisure – thanks to the swift action of the security team who had been alerted by an alarm that had been triggered.

 

The incident took place at Perran Sands Holiday Park in Cornwall. Several youths had been emptying powder extinguishers into an empty super tent but the security team managed to catch them red handed.
